New Lebanon Vehicle Registration API
We’ve launched a new vehicle registration API for Lebanon, providing automated access to detailed vehicle information from Lebanese registration plates.
The new CheckLebanon endpoint allows developers, automotive businesses, data providers and other organisations to look up vehicle information using a Lebanese registration plate number.
Lebanese Vehicle Data, Available Through an API
Lebanon has a diverse vehicle market, but accessing structured vehicle information programmatically can be challenging. The new RegCheck Lebanon API is designed to make this information available through a simple, standardised API request.
The endpoint is:
https://www.regcheck.org.uk/api/reg.asmx?op=CheckLebanon
A test registration number is available using S236970.
The API returns a range of information about the vehicle, including:
- Make and model
- Registration year
- Manufacture / production year
- VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- Purchase date
- Colour
- Engine code
- Vehicle usage
- Vehicle image
This makes the API suitable for applications that need to identify and enrich vehicle records from a Lebanese registration number.
Detailed Vehicle Identification
The API can return both manufacturer and model information, as well as the vehicle’s VIN.
For example, a lookup can identify a vehicle as a Honda CR-V EX-L, together with its VIN, production year and other vehicle attributes.
This can be particularly useful for automotive applications where a registration number is the starting point for obtaining more complete vehicle information.
Vehicle Usage Information
One of the useful fields returned by the Lebanon endpoint is VehicleUse.
The source data can contain Arabic descriptions of how the vehicle is registered or used. For example:
سياحة خصوصي
This means that applications consuming the API can retain the original Lebanese/Arabic terminology rather than relying solely on an English translation.
Arabic Vehicle Data
The Lebanon service also provides access to information in the original Arabic where that is how the underlying vehicle data is recorded.
For example, vehicle colour information may be returned in Arabic:
اخضر
This can be particularly useful for organisations building applications for the Lebanese market, where preserving the original source terminology is important.
The API therefore provides an opportunity for developers to build both Arabic-language and international automotive applications around Lebanese vehicle registration data.
Example API Response
A typical response can contain information such as:
{ "Description": "HONDA CRV EX-L", "RegistrationYear": "2017", "CarMake": { "CurrentTextValue": "HONDA" }, "CarModel": { "CurrentTextValue": "CRV EX-L" }, "MakeDescription": { "CurrentTextValue": "HONDA" }, "ModelDescription": { "CurrentTextValue": "CRV EX-L" }, "VehicleIdentificationNumber": "5J6RE38759L020858", "PurchaseDate": "07/10/2020", "ProductionYear": "2009", "Colour": "اخضر", "EngineCode": "20171650", "VehicleUse": "سياحة خصوصي"}
The exact fields returned can depend on the information available for the individual vehicle.
Built for Automotive Applications
The new Lebanon endpoint can be integrated into a wide range of automotive and data-driven applications, including:
- Vehicle identification systems
- Automotive marketplaces
- Vehicle valuation and pricing systems
- Insurance applications
- Vehicle history services
- Dealership software
- Fleet management
- Automotive data enrichment
- Registration and compliance systems
- Vehicle search and lookup websites
Developers can submit a Lebanese registration number and use the returned information to automatically populate vehicle records, reducing the need for manual data entry.
Lebanese Vehicle Registration Data
The service complements RegCheck’s growing international vehicle registration coverage, allowing developers to use a common API architecture when working with registration numbers from different countries.
For organisations operating across multiple markets, this can make it considerably easier to incorporate Lebanese vehicles alongside existing international vehicle data.
